Kanto Audio TUK G2 – Refined Powered Hi-Fi in a Compact Cabinet

The second-generation TUK is built for listeners who want a complete hi-fi system on a bookshelf, a sideboard or a desk — without a rack of separates behind it. A remastered acoustic platform pairs Kanto's 28 × 35 mm AMT tweeter with a 5.25-inch Aircomb aluminum woofer, and 130 W RMS of Class-D power with DSP keeps the balance natural at any volume. Hand-built cabinets in five finishes make it as easy to live with as it is to listen to, and it is available at Soundium.

Key Features

  • 28 × 35 mm AMT tweeter: Air Motion Transformer in a refined waveguide keeps detail and balance consistent across the whole room, not just one seat.
  • 5.25-inch Aircomb aluminum woofer: Laser-engraved concave cone adds depth and dispersion over the original TUK without growing the footprint.
  • 130 W RMS / 260 W peak Class-D with DSP: Reworked crossover and digital tuning give voices more presence and instruments more separation.
  • Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive: High-resolution wireless straight from a phone or tablet, with low latency and a stable connection.
  • USB-C, optical and dual RCA: A 24-bit/96 kHz USB-C input bypasses your computer's sound card; TOSLINK handles the TV, RCA covers analog sources.
  • Selectable 80 Hz subwoofer crossover: Send the low end to a sub and let the 5.25-inch drivers focus on midrange and treble detail.
  • Hand-built cabinets, five finishes: High-density acoustic MDF with real wood veneers or hand-polished lacquer, and matching metallic waveguides.

Customer Benefits

This is the shortest route from a phone, a laptop or a turntable to a proper stereo image. Everything that would normally live in an amplifier and a DAC is already inside the active cabinet, so a pair of speakers, a power cable and one input is the entire system. The squared-off cabinet reduces edge diffraction, which is why the soundstage stays focused even when the speakers sit close to a wall or on a narrow shelf. And because the 80 Hz filter is selectable, the same pair works as a compact two-channel setup today and as the front of a 2.1 system later.

  • Infrared remote control
  • Speaker wire, 5 m
  • RCA to 3.5 mm cable, 1.8 m
  • 8 × rubber feet
  • User manual

Ideal For

  • A complete bookshelf or sideboard hi-fi system without separates
  • Desktop listening over USB-C, straight from a laptop
  • TV and turntable duty in a small or medium living room

Compatibility

Compatible with: turntables with a built-in phono preamp, TVs and streamers over optical, computers over USB-C, and any Bluetooth 5.4 or older source; Kanto SX and SP stands match the cabinet for ear-level placement.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

  • AMT tweeter detail with a genuinely wide usable listening area
  • Amplifier, DSP and DAC built in — no separates needed
  • Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive plus a 24-bit/96 kHz USB-C input
  • Five hand-finished colourways, including real wood veneers

⚠️ Cons:

  • 50 Hz lower limit means larger rooms will want the subwoofer output used
  • No phono input — a turntable needs its own preamp
  • Wired stereo link between the cabinets, so both speakers need to sit near each other

The TUK G2 is the version of Kanto's best-known speaker that finally looks as considered as it sounds — a small pair that fills a room and stays interesting for years. Find the Kanto Audio TUK G2 at Soundium.
