Rega Replay: The Cheapest Way Into a Rega Turntable

Rega Replay turntable under its clear dust cover

Rega has been making turntables in England for more than 50 years, and the Planar 1 was always the cheapest way in. Not any more. Replay is a new, simpler deck that sits below it, built to get a first-time buyer listening in about a minute.

Rega says it spent three years on the design. The result is a skeletal, low-mass plinth carrying the same RB110 tonearm used on the Planar 1, with a Rega Carbon cartridge already fitted and aligned.

Who It's For

First-time vinyl buyers and anyone with an amplifier that has an MM phono input. Replay has no built-in phono stage, so it needs either that input or a separate phono preamp such as the Rega Fono MM.

Who should look elsewhere: if you want a phono stage or Bluetooth built into the turntable, a deck like the Cambridge Audio Spira covers that. Replay also changes speed by moving the belt by hand.

Where to Buy

Replay is listed at Soundium now for €349. It's a new release and our first units aren't here yet, so it sits in Forthcoming; order it from the Replay page and we'll send it as soon as stock lands.

In Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia you can also get the whole system in one order: the Replay + Fono MM + L/R S Vinyl System pairs the turntable with Rega's Fono MM phono stage and Cambridge Audio's L/R S active speakers for €999 instead of €1,097.

Final Thoughts

Replay doesn't try to be clever. It takes the parts that make a Rega sound like a Rega and removes the setup that scares newcomers away. We'll have it at Soundium, ready to pair with a phono stage and speakers.
